Essay Contest
For the past few years our chapter has conducted an essay contest for local high school students. The purpose of the program is to encourage young people in their final years of high school to think about the problems resulting from overpopulation.
We send announcements (in fall) to more than twenty high schools in the area, offering cash prizes for the best essays on a topic related to population.
The submissions are evaluated by the chapter chairman and other chapter officers and members.
The prize money is contributed by our local chapter members. In some cases, "consolation prizes" are awarded to participants for their efforts.
If you would like to donate money for the essay contest, or if you would like to participate, e-mail a chapter contact for more information.
